City of Wonders

Part three of the Seven Forges series, City of Wonders takes a bleak world and makes it even bleaker.  The enemy is given the opportunity to showcase just how merciless it really is.  Death pretty much oozes from the pages of Moore’s writing.

Moore manages to create suspense by crafting an adversary so powerful that the reader is compelled to see what – if anything – will save the heroes.  The harsh environment also brings out the hidden strengths of those who actually manage to survive the bloodshed that has come to their land.  You’ll soon find yourself rooting for anyone who has the slightest hope of fighting back.

War-soaked fantasy at its best.  I look forward to reading the fourth, and final, book in the series: The Silent Army.

Death pretty much oozes from the pages of City of Wonders.  I loved it!

City of Wonders squeezes suspense from a bleak and war-ravaged world.  You’ll be staying up late to finish this book.

War-soaked fantasy at its best!  Moore delivers yet again.
