The Deaths of Tao

The Deaths of Tao is a great follow up to the first book in this series.  The stakes are now higher for our heroes and the action is non-stop.  Once again, Chu’s signature humour brings light to an otherwise dark tale.

Chu is clever with character development.  In some chapters, he’ll place about a page of dialogue which has no direct bearing on the story – just two characters taking a moment to chat.  It’s an effective technique that creates endearing characters and does not detract at all from the storyline.

Chu writes each chapter from one of three points of view.  A good choice for this story, since the action is taking place in different places around the globe.  He does a fantastic job of keeping a multi-setting story cohesive.

The Deaths of Tao is explosive and heartwarming.  Chu hits the mark again!

Chu’s writing is so well crafted, you’ll wonder if he has he own alien Quasing helping him along.
