The Rebirths of Tao

The Rebirths of Tao is the final instalment in this three-part series.  Chu pulls off a satisfying conclusion full of strong tie-backs to the first two books.  The ending provided a balance between victories and loss for the protagonists.  And, of course, Chu’s trademark humour kept things fun.

As for the more technical side of the writing, the sentence structure is well put together.  The smooth flow keeps the action of the story moving along and makes it easy for the reader to get immersed in the story.

This book expands the point of views to four – and a partial fifth if you include the lesser villain.  This provided more depth to the overall series and allows the reader to get a more complete picture of what the characters think about the alien/ human war.

Chu has a magical mix of humour, action and storytelling that keeps readers coming back.

The Rebirths of Tao keeps the crisp action of the earlier books in the series, and brings the story to its well-crafted conclusion.
